A buffer location is used in a warehouse to temporarily hold goods between two work steps and to decouple technical processes.
Example:
A unit load is transported from goods receipt to a buffer location in front of the high-bay warehouse. Once the narrow-aisle forklift is available, it retrieves the load and stores it in its assigned location. The buffer zone allows for greater efficiency in transport operations.
