What does the abbreviation CEP stand for?

CEP stands for Courier, Express, and Parcel services, a key term in shipping logistics. These companies handle deliveries for both private and business customers. In Germany, the largest CEP provider by far is DHL, followed by DPD, UPS, and Hermes.

CEP services play a crucial role, particularly for B2C deliveries. While manufacturing companies typically handle their goods transport via trucks, most consumer orders are shipped through CEP providers. An estimated 3.65 billion shipments were transported via CEP services in 2019, creating a significant burden on logistics infrastructure.

To simplify and automate processes, various solutions are now available. For example, the International Shipping System (ISS) by EPG enables businesses to manage all shipping logistics in a single solution. The system supports all major CEP providers and can be customized to meet specific business needs, including overnight and same-day delivery options.
