What is a digital warehouse?

A digital warehouse refers to the replacement of outdated technical systems. Manual processes are intentionally replaced by digital technologies and applications, significantly reducing operational costs.

This transformation occurs in the following stages:

  • Yard management: Goods are evenly distributed. For example, fixed time slots are scheduled for deliveries
  • Inbound and outbound storage: Scanners verify whether the correct truck is positioned at a dock door and, if correct, automatically open the door
  • Storage and picking: These processes are often fully automated
