What is a logistics service provider?

A logistics service provider handles the transportation, storage, packaging, and sometimes distribution of goods. They can be classified into:

  • 1PL – In-house transport using own fleet
  • 2PL – Basic transport providers (carriers, shipping lines)
  • 3PL – 5PL – Full-service providers including warehouse management, order processing, and supply chain optimization
