Material flow control refers to the physical handling of all types of goods movements. This includes the coordination and synchronization of information flows. The goal is to ensure adequate quality and guarantee that goods are always in the right place at the right time.
Modern material flow controllers (MFCs) feature interfaces with inventory-managing warehouse management systems (WMS). Transport orders are generated within the WMS and then forwarded to the MFC.
The warehouse management system and multifunctional controller work together to optimize the use of available resources and ensure stable plant and operational conditions. Access is often possible via mobile devices.
