What is meant by a pallet rack?

Pallet racks are warehouse storage systems designed for unit loads such as pallets or mesh boxes. They support:

• Single-depth (one unit per slot)
• Multi-depth storage (multiple units side-by-side)

Load levels can be adjusted via slot systems.
Above 12 meters, the system is classified as high-bay racking.

Load capacity: 5 to 30 tons per section

Trained personnel must follow DIN safety regulations.
Corner guards and impact protection are used to minimize risk.

Advantages:

• direct access to each pallet
• flexible and easy to expand

Disadvantages:

• higher space requirements than block storage
• often requires specialized equipment
