What is meant by the term remaining shelf life?

For perishable goods, a latest shipping date must be defined.
The period between this date and the BBD is called the remaining shelf life.

• “Remaining shelf life from goods receipt (WE)” is the time between receipt and the product’s expiration date.
• Items falling below the required remaining shelf life may be excluded from storage.

The maximum shelf life is the time between production and expiry and is entered in the article master data to prevent input errors.
