What happens during shipping processing?

Shipping processing lies between logistics and distribution and represents the final stage of logistics. It includes all steps needed to prepare goods for delivery to the customer.

After order confirmation, documents such as invoices, delivery notes, and return labels are usually generated automatically. Then follows the picking process, where items are retrieved, assembled, and prepared for transport. Once handed over to the carrier, they are responsible for delivery to the customer.

Shipping processing also includes returns management, enabling easy returns handling. Today, many software solutions exist to ensure smooth shipping logistics.
