What is a Supplier management?

Supplier management refers to the strategic planning and coordination of a company’s relationships with its suppliers. The aim is to optimize both incoming and outgoing goods. Professional supplier management addresses key questions such as: Which supplier offers which conditions? How can effective coordination be achieved despite having many suppliers? What preparations are necessary for inbound and outbound processes? And how can both the company and its customers benefit?

To implement effective and goal-oriented supplier management, technical support is essential. In logistics, there are a few providers whose warehouse management systems are also tailored for shipping and transportation services. For example, the EPG | LFS solution includes specialized modules for shipping logistics and dock management.
