What is meant by the term value added service (VAS)?

Value Added Services (VAS) are non-core services that enhance a company’s offering and create additional value for customers. They help businesses stand out from competitors and increase market share. In logistics, VAS go beyond transportation and storage.

Product-related VAS include assembly, disassembly, repair, repackaging, refinement, and quality checks.
Process-related VAS include picking, kitting, labeling, returns management, customs clearance, and shelf service.
