Module 1: Stocktaking Concepts in EPG's WMS & Role of Random Samples

  • Overview of WMS stocktaking options: permanent, fixed-date, item-related, random sample 
  • When and why to use random sample stocktaking 
  • Impact of random sample procedures on warehouse operations and auditability 

Module 2: Configuration – Keys & Profiles for Random Sample Stocktake

  • Stocktaking profile in key K100: counts, RF vs. list, counting teams and sequences 
  • Other relevant key settings that influence stocktaking behavior (e.g. staging locations, blocking codes) 
  • Company and warehouse settings that affect stocktake and evaluation 

Module 3: Creating Random Sample Stocktake Processes

  • Difference between full stocktake processes and random sample processes in EPG’s WMS 
  • Setting up and starting random sample stocktake runs 
  • Generating and printing count lists for random samples 
  • Ensuring correct blocking of items/locations during the random sample procedure 

Module 4: Execution, Monitoring & Completio

  • Executing counts (on paper or RF, depending on profile) for the selected random sample set 
  • Monitoring open / non-booked stocktaking lists and ensuring completeness via menu 619 and related menus (629, 639, 649) 
  • Posting results and releasing stock after completion 

Module 5: Evaluation & Analysis of Random Sample Stocktake

  • Using stocktake evaluation and selection displays to analyze random sample processes, including the “Random sample proc.” field 
  • Working with selection filters, item/variant/batch criteria, and date ranges 
  • Using accumulation options (none, by item, by storage location, by business cycle) to evaluate results and identify risk areas 
  • Optional: displaying difference in goods value for authorized users (G301 setting) 

Module 6: Best Practices, Compliance & Integration with Overall Stocktaking

  • Combining random sample procedures with permanent and fixed-date stocktakes for overall inventory strategy 
  • Typical pitfalls and how to avoid them (missing lists, unposted counts, incorrect filters) 
  • Checklist for running random sample stocktakes in EPG’s WMS from preparation to evaluation 
  • Q&A and discussion of customer-specific scenarios
