Jumbo is one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands, serving customers through both physical stores and a rapidly growing e-commerce grocery delivery network. As Jumbo’s home delivery business expanded to over 600 vehicles, maintaining punctual deliveries became increasingly difficult. Despite using established route planning software alongside a TMS, deliveries frequently missed their promised time slots, directly impacting customer satisfaction.
After a competitive tender involving eight providers and an extensive proof of concept, Jumbo selected Greenplan to fix the problem with its unique approach to route optimization. Using predictive traffic times based on time-of-day patterns, Jumbo was able to improve on-time performance from 91% to 96%.
