Step by step to becoming an EPG ONE WMS expert

Whether you are introducing a new warehouse management system, training new employees, or implementing new technologies: We have the right solution. Depending on your requirements and existing knowledge, we prepare an individual training package for you. In courses that build on one another, we teach everything that WMS experts need to know in their day-to-day dealings with complex logistics and IT processes – on request, either at your premises or at our logistics training center. First theory, then practice. Our courses are designed to model practical application, giving participants the opportunity to reap the most from their time in the classroom. That way, you and your employees are optimally equipped for upcoming tasks.

Working with hazardous materials is a significant challenge alleviated by the EPG ONE WMS warehouse management system. It is important that you and your employees are effectively trained to avoid expensive liability claims.

In this course, you will learn how to configure the master data and key settings in WMS necessary to work with hazardous goods and materials in the warehouse. Answer common questions like: How do I set maximum quantities per storage location? How do I add the data for the “inventory list for the fire department” or the “1000 limit” small load exemption? What specific hazardous goods information can I add for the different transport routes?

The course also explains and extensively tests participants on the options for complying with packaging, storing, and shipping requirements. Advanced practical examples and exercises build on what you have learned.

EPG ONE WMS gives you the ability to carry out quality controls and to block defective goods or mark them as B goods. The course introduces you to all the relevant quality management processes. A key part of the course is how to handle quality labels and characteristics. How do you create test instructions and carry out incoming goods inspections? How do you block goods by best-before date or ripening period? How do you apply a retrieval block via the blacklist? How do you release blocked goods, reserve them and remove them from the warehouse?

The course discusses and explains all the menus and settings that are relevant for quality assurance in detail, using example applications.

The half-day course can be held as an attendance course in combination with another course or as a stand-alone webinar.

EPG ONE WMS can keep an account of returnable items, in particular for exchanging pallets. This makes it easy to answer questions such as how many pallets you are owed by a supplier.

This course teaches you everything you need to successfully handle returnable items in WMS. The focus is on setting up and maintaining all the master data that is required to use all the available functions. How do I keep an account for returnable items? How do I manually or automatically post incoming and outgoing items? Clear practical examples and exercises build on your newly acquired knowledge.

The half-day course can be booked as an add-on to another attendance course, such as “WMS for Advanced Users”. Remote training as a webinar is also possible.

Do you work with returns in your warehouse? EPG ONE WMS warehouse management system can support you and speed up the process. On this course, you will learn about returns handling. You will get an overview of the types of returns handling, how to create returns documents, how to post returns, and how to put away returned goods again. You will practice the different types of returns handling (notifications, returns slips, etc.) available in WMS on the course and use the applicable settings. Processing items that require serial numbers is a particular challenge in the warehouse. For what processes do I need to record the serial numbers? Should I be including and checking the serial numbers in all warehouse processes? This course will introduce you to the different options for handling serial numbers in EPG ONE WMS and to the applicable settings. The course works through specific workflows, such as how to use templates. You will extend you knowledge of processes and configurations with a comprehensive range of exercises and practical examples. The half-day course can be held as an attendance course in combination with another course or as a stand-alone webinar.

This course introduces you to the different types of stocktaking. The course introduces the requirements for the different types of stocktaking and compares the advantages and disadvantages. You will learn how to set up all the master data and key files in EPG ONE WMS that are necessary to carry out continuous, periodic and zero-crossing stocktaking. How do I define control counts for stocktaking? How are differences posted and how is stocktaking evaluated? Practical exercises with a list, on the mobile data recording equipment and on full screen facilitate understanding of LFS and give you the tools to independently configure your own warehouse.

Random stocktaking can save a lot of time and money, especially for large warehouses. This course will familiarize you with the specified requirements for random sample stocktaking and provides training for setting up all associated master and key data in WMS. What is a population and a complete inventory count range? How do you carry out a warehouse structural analysis using the Lorenz curve? How do you determine the optimal number of shifts to minimize the sample size? Practical exercises with a list, on the mobile data recording equipment and on full screen facilitate understanding of EPG ONE WMS and give you the tools to independently configure your own warehouse.

Value added services are additional tasks that go beyond normal logistics processes and that you perform in the warehouse for yourself or your customers (e.g. special packaging, labeling, and quality controls). The EPG ONE WMS warehouse management system offers a powerful module that takes over management of the value added services in your warehouse and can be integrated into any standard process (e.g. packaging) as an add-on. In this course, you will learn about the extensive different applications of value added services (VAS). We consider how to create and implement VAS and run through practical exercises on mobile data recording equipment and on screen at set-up workstations, until you are confident with the system. This includes configuring routes, which can be used to manage performance of VAS. Finally, the course looks at how to bill VAS via logistics services. It is a good idea to book this course in combination with the “Logistics services” course, as the two courses are closely related and complementary.

Production processes within EPG ONE WMS refer to the use of available items to create something new. But how is this set up and monitored? This course has the answers. We will guide you through the set-up and monitoring processes. This course also includes aspects of quality management, morphological data checks, and variant handling within EPG ONE WMS. This ensures a complete picture of service orders within our WMS.

EPG ONE WMS gives you the ability to enter and accept orders for goods. In this course, you will learn how to work with purchase orders, order notifications, and order acceptances in our WMS. You will learn how to set up and configure all aspects of order management in EPG ONE WMS. This includes all the key settings required for the application. The course also covers the specific menus for order management in detail and how to use them. How do I create a purchase order in LFS? How do I use order management to post and put away goods incoming after notification? Practical exercises are used to clarify the settings and deepen knowledge. The half-day course can be held as an attendance course in combination with another course or as a stand-alone webinar.

After the completion of this course, you will be able to fully set up the EPG Start Center as well as monitor all processes and background jobs. We will also help you navigate Printmanager configuration, scanner set-up, and user and menu management within EPG ONE WMS.
